Materials: 4-Ply Yarn - 6 ozs Black, 1 oz Orange, Small Amount of Yellow, Green, Pink, Royal Blue and
White

Crochet Hook Size H

19" Wooden Dowel

2 - 5 mm Moveable Eyes

Glue

Sewing Needle

Small Amount of Green, Black and Pink Felt

1" Stencil Letter Guide

Main Piece:

Row 1: With black yarn, ch 62, dc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 dc in each ch across, ch 3, turn. (Ch 3, turn at
end of every row)

Row 2: Work 1 dc in each dc across.

Row 3 - 30: Rep Row 2. At the end of Row 30, fasten off leaving a sewing length.

Trim:

Attach orange yarn in the 1st row worked, ch 1, sc in each st across, work 2 sc in corner, work 2 sc
in each row on side of dc, work 2 sc in corner, sc in each st up other side, fasten off. Do not work
orange across the last end as this will be the top. The dc rows will rn from top to bottom. Sew 3 rows
folded back to form pocket to insert the dowel into. When sewn insert the rod.

Hanger:

With 2 strands of orange, ch 88, fasten off. Slip over the ends of dowel and sew to the edging to
secure in place. Make a small orange tassel for each side and sew into place.

Pockets:(Make 3):

Row 1: With black yarn, ch 17, dc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 dc in each ch across, ch 3, turn. (Ch 3, and
turn at the end of every row).

Rows 2-8: Work 1 dc in each dc across. At the end of Row 8, fasten off.

Pocket Trim:

Attach orange, ch 1, work 1 sc in each dc, 2 sc in each side of rows, and 2 sc in each corner, join with
sl st, fasten off leaving a length for sewing.

Pumpkins: (Make 3):

Rnd 1: With orange yarn, ch 3, join to form a ring. Ch 3, 11 dc in ring, join.

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, 2 dc in each st around, join and fasten off leaving a length for
sewing.

Stems:

Work one on each pumpkin, Attach green to top of pumpkin, ch 3, 1 dc in same st, ch 3, sl st in same
st as dc, fasten off.

Ghosts: (Make 2):

Rnds 1 & 2: Rep as for pumpkin rnds 1 and 2, but do not fasten off, ch 3, turn.

Body:

Row 1: Work 1 dc in each of next 3 sts, ch 3, turn.

Row 2: Work 1 dc in same st as ch 3, 2 dc in each st across, ch 3, turn.

Row 3 - 5: Work dc increase 1 st in 1st and last st of each row, you will have 14 sts at end of row 5.
Fasten off at the end of row 5 leaving a length of yarn for sewing.

Moon:

Rnds 1 & 2: Rep as for pumpkin rnds 1 and 2, but do not fasten off.

Rnd 3: Dc around, increase to 36 sts around, join and fasten off leaving a length for sewing.

Bat:

Rnd 1: With black yarn, ch 3, join to form a ring. Ch 2, work 8 hdc in ring, join, ch 2, turn.

Row 1: Work 2 hdc in same st as turning ch, work 3 hdc in each of next 3 sts, ch 4, turn.

Row 2: *Skip next st, sl st in next st, ch 4, rep from * across, fasten off leaving a length for sewing.

Finishing:

Sew the pumpkins to the pockets and the pockets evenly spaced to the bottom of the main piece. Tie
a scrap of hot pink yarn for ribbon into a bow for the girl ghost, and a blue piece around the neck of
the boy ghost for a bow tie. Cut out black eyes for each ghost and pink nose and mouth for each ghost
out of felt. Glue on face as shown. Sew the 2 ghosts in place on main piece as shown. Glue eyes on
the bat and sew the bat on the moon, sew the moon onto main piece as shown. Using orange felt cut
out letters from 1" stencil lettering guide and glue to top of main piece. With green felt and 1" stencil,
cut out 1 - B and 2 - O and glue onto pumpkins, 1 letter each pumpkin as shown. Fill pockets with
candy and you’re ready to enjoy you Halloween visitors.
