Materials: Crochet Cotton 1 Ball Each of Canary Yellow and Fudge Brown

Yellow Felt

Large Banana (make 4):

With yellow ch 29, drop yellow, attach brown and ch 6.

Row 1 (wrong side): With brown sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 5 ch, keeping
unused thread on wrong side of work, drop brown, pick up yellow, sc in each of next 13 ch, 2 sc in
next ch (an increase made), sc in each remaining ch. Ch 5, turn (tip of banana). On all even rows,
work in back loop of each st.

Row 2: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in each of next 3 ch, 2 sc in next sc, sc in each remaining sc
to within last 6 sc, 2 sc in each of next 2 sc, sc in each of next 4 sc, drop yellow, pick up brown, sl
st in each of next 6 sls sts. Ch 1, turn.


Row 3: With brown sl st in first 3 sl sts, drop brown, pick up yellow, sc in each remaining st to
within last 4 sl sts, sl st in each sl st. Ch , turn.

Row 4: Sl st in first 4 sl sts, sc in each sc to within last 4 sc, drop yellow, pick up brown, sc in next
3 sc, sl st in each remaining st. Ch 1, turn.

Row 5: With brown sl st in first 4 sts, drop brown, pick up yellow, sc across to within last 4 st sts,
increasing 1 sc in center of row, sl st in each of last 4 sl sts. Ch 1, turn.

Rows 6 & 7: Repeat 4th and 5th rows. Break off at end of 7th row. With brown and right side
facing, make 5 sc along tip of banana. Break off.

Small Banana (make 3):

With yellow, ch 26, drop yellow attach brown and ch 6.

Row 1: (right side of work): Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, break off brown, pick up yellow, sl st in next
3 ch, sc in next 5 ch, 2 sc in each fo the next 2 ch, sc in each remaining chain to within last 3 ch, sl
st in next 3 ch. Ch 1, turn.

Row 2: Sc in each st across to within last 4 sl sts, sl st in each sl st. Ch 1, turn. (Tip).

Row 3: Working in back loop of each st, sl st in first 4 sl sts, sc in each sc across to within last 3
sts, increasing 1 sc in center of row, sl st in last 3 sts. Ch 1, turn.

Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows alternately 2 times more. Break off at end of last row. With brown and
right side facing, make 6 sc along edge of tip. Turn.

Next Row: Sl st in each sc across. Break off.

With brown, embroider markings in stem st on bananas as in pic. Arrange bananas in a bunch,
having large bananas overlap small bananas with tips having free and first and 4th large bananas
meeting at top edge of bunch.

Stem: With brown and right side facing, make 9 sc across top edge of first and 4th bananas, ch 8,
sl st in first sc.

Rnd 1: Sc in each of next 2 sc, work off next 2 sc as 1 sc (a decrease), sc in next 4 sc, 8 sc in the
ch-8 sp.

Rnds 2 to 5: Sc in each sc around, decreasing 2 sc evenly spaced on each rnd. Break off at end of
last rnd, leaving a 10-inch strand. Thread into a needle and sew up opening. Line with felt. With
brown, make a sc chain for hanging. Sew to potholder.
