Christmas Ball Ornament Crochet Pattern
Materials: Crochet Cotton Thread Size 10 - 40 yds
Crochet Hook Size 4 or 2.00 mm
3 mm Pearl Beads 80 (optional)
Trim - Beads, Ribbon etc (optional)
Small Round Balloon
Picot: Slip st in third ch from hook.
String 40 pearls onto thread.
First Half:
Rnd 1: (right side): Ch 4, 15 dc in fourth ch from hook; join with slip st to top of beginning ch: 16 sts.
Rnd 2: Ch 5, dc in same st, skip next dc, * (dc, ch 2, dc) in next dc, skip next dc; repeat from * around; join with
slip st to third ch of beginning ch-5: 8 ch-2 sps.
Rnd 3: Slip st in first ch-2 sp, ch 3, (2 dc, slide pearl up, 3 dc) in same sp, (3 dc, slide pearl up, 3 dc) in each ch-2
sp around: join with slip st to top of beginning ch-3; 48 sts.
Rnd 4: Ch 7, slide pearl up, work Picot, ch 1, skip next 2 dc, dc in sp before next dc, ch 4, slide pearl up, work
picot, ch 1, *skip next 3 dc, dc in sp before next dc, ch 4, slide pearl up, work picot, ch 1; repeat from * around;
join with slip st to third ch of beginning ch-7.
Rnd 5: Ch 7, slide pearl up, work picot, ch 1 * dc in next dc, ch 4, slide pearl up, work picot, ch 1; repeat from *
around; join with slip st to third ch of beginning ch-7.
Rnd 6: Ch 6, (dc in next dc, ch 3) around; join with slip st to third ch of beginning ch-6: 16 ch-3 sps.
Rnd 7: Ch 3, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp, (dc in next dc, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp) around; join with slip st to top of beginning
ch-3, finish off.
Repeat for second half.
Finishing:
Sew halves of ornament together, being careful to match stitches. Push balloon through any chain space of
ornament, inflate balloon until it fills ornament and tie end. Starch. When dry puncture and remove balloon. Add
trim and hanger as desired.
