Materials: J & P Coats Big Ball Crochet Cotton Size 20-1 Ball of White
Steel Crochet Hook Size 9
1 Yd Cord Elastic
1 Yd Wide Ribbon

200 Pearls
Note: Before starting to crochet, thread pearls onto crochet cotton. Push pearls along
cotton until ready to use.
Size: Will fit standard size bottle
Cover:
Beg at center, ch 7. Sl st in first ch to form ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, work 16 sc in ring. Join with sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Sc in same st as joining, * ch 3, sk 1 sc, sc in next sc, repeat from * around, end
last repeat with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 3: Sl st to center of next ch-3, sc in ch-3, * ch 4, sc in next ch-3, repeat from * around,
end last repeat with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 4: Sl st to center of next ch-4, sc in ch-4, * ch 5, sc in next ch-4, repeat from * around,
end last repeat with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 5: Sl st to center of next ch-5, sc in ch-5, * ch 6, sc in next ch-5, repeat from * around,
end last repeat with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 6: Sl st to center of next ch-6, * ch 6, sc in next ch-6, repeat from * around, end last
repeat with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 7: (pearls): Work 3 sc in next ch-6 sp, slide a pearl close to hook and ch 1 tightly,
then work 4 more sc in same ch-6 sp, repeat from * around. Join with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 8: Sl st to center sc of first sc-group, sc in same sc, * ch 6, sc in center of next sc-
group, repeat from * around. Join with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 9: Rep rnd 7.
Rnd 10: Work as for rnd 8, but work ch 7 (instead of ch 6).
Rnd 11: Work as for rnd 7, but work 8 sc in each sp, (with pearl in center of 8-sc).
Continue in pattern as established on last 2 rnds, working 1 rnd of ch sps and 1 rnd of sc
in each ch sp with pearl in center of sc’s, but increase as follows:
Rnd 12: Work ch 7 sps.
Rnd 13: Work 8 sc in each sp.
Rnd 14: Work ch 8 sps.
Rnd 15: Work 9 sc in each sp.
Rnds 16-22: Repeat last 2 rnds four more times or until long enough to fit over
champagne bottle to beg ruffle, then rep rnd 14 once more (16 ch-8 sps).
Ruffle:
Rnd 1: Ch 3, work 8 dc in each sp around, join with sl st in top of ch-3.
Rnd 2: Ch 6, sk first 3 dc, sc in next dc, * ch 6, sk next 3 dc, sc in next dc, repeat from *
around, join at base of ch-6 (32 sps).
Rnds 3-9: Sl st to center of first sp, sc in sp, * ch 6, sc in next sp, rep from * around end
with sl st in first sc. At end of last rnd, break off.
Finishing:
Weave elastic in and out of sts on dc round. Adjust to fit, secure ends. Make bow from
ribbon and sew in place.
