Materials: South Maid Crochet Cotton 50 yds white
Steel Crochet Hook Size 7
Fabric Stiffener
½ yd gold satin ribbon ¼” wide
2 Small Yellow Silk Roses with Green Leaves
1 oz plastic Medicine Cup
Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
12” Square of White Tulle

Finished Size Approximately 3” High
Basket:
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 11 dc in 3rd ch from hook, join with a sl st in top of starting ch-3.
Rnd 2: Ch 3 dc in same st, 2 dc in each dc around to last dc, 3 dc in last dc, join with a sl
st in top of starting ch-3.
Rnd 3: Ch 5, dc in same st, * sk one dc, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next dc. Rep from * around, join.
Rnds 4-8: Sl st into first ch-2 sp, ch 5, dc in same sp, * (dc, ch 2, dc) in each ch-2 sp
around, join.
Rnd 9: Sl st into first ch-2 sp, (ch 3, dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in same sp, (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in each
ch-2 sp around, join, turn.
Rnd 10: Sl st into first ch-3 sp, ch 3, dc, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, (2 dc, ch 3, 2 dc) in each
ch-3 sp around, join. Break off.
Handle:
Row 1: Ch 29, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each sc across, turn.
Row 2: Ch 6, sk 2 sc, tr in next sc, * ch 2, sk 2 sc, tr in next sc. Rep from * across, ch 1,
turn.
Row 3: Sc in each tr and 2 sc in each ch-2 sp across ending with sc in 4th ch of starting
ch-6 of row 2. Break off.
Stiffening:
Dip crocheted pieces into fabric stiffener until wet. Squeeze out excess. Cover a 16”
square piece of cardboard with waxed paper. Place crocheted basket over medicine cup.
Turn basket upside down. Pin to cardboard with two outer rnds flat against cardboard. Pin
handle to cardboard. Let all pieces dry thoroughly. Remove medicine cup when crochet is
dry.
Finishing:
Cut 6” of gold ribbon and weave in and out of spaces through handle. Glue ends of
ribbon in place and glue handle to inside of basket. Glue one rose on either side of
handle where handle and basket meet. Wrap candy in tulle, place in basket. Tie bow in
center of gold ribbon, leaving long ends on each side of bow. Glue bow to center top of
handle. Cut ends of ribbon on a slant.
