Afghan:
Ch 175.
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each of next 5 ch, * (ch 2, skip 2 ch, dc in next ch) 5
times, dc in each of next 9ch; repeat from * across, end last repeat with dc in 6 ch--row 1
of chart completed. Turn.
Row 2: Sl st in first dc, ch 3 for first dc, dc in next 3 dc--filled mesh at beg of row
completed, * ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next dc--open mesh over filled mesh completed, (ch 2,
dc in next dc) twice, --2 open mesh over 2 open mesh completed, 2 dc in ch-2, dc in next
dc--filled mesh over open mesh completed, (ch 2, dc in next dc) twice, --2 more open
mesh completed, ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next dc--another open mesh over filled mesh
completed, dc in next 3 dc--filled mesh over filled mesh completed; repeat from * across--
row 2 of chart completed.
Row 3: Sl st in first dc, ch 5 for first dc and ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next dc--open mesh at
beg of row completed, work 2 more open mesh, * 3 filled mesh, 5 open mesh; rep from *
across, end last repeat with 3 open mesh--row 3 of chart completed. Turn.
Continue following chart from A to B to complete each row. Repeat rows from C to D until
there are a total of 73 rows. At end of last row, cut yarn.

Border:
Rnd 1: (right side): Turn work to work across side (dc post) edge, join yarn and work * 3
sc in corner, ** sc in next dc post, (2 sc in next dc post) 3 times; repeat from ** as
established to corner, 3 sc in corner, working across next side, sc in each dc and work 1
sc in each ch-2; repeat from * once more, join with sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Sc in each sc around, work 3 sc in each corner. At end of rnd, join.
Rnd 3: Sl st to center sc of corner, ch 8 for first dc and ch 5, dc in same corner, * (ch 3,
skip 2 sc, dc in next sc) to next corner, ch 3 ** , in center sc of corner work dc, ch 5 and
dc; rep from * around, end last repeat at ** , join to third ch of starting ch-8.

Finishing: With damp cloth, press lightly on wrong side to flatten scallops.
