Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn 3 oz Balls; 2 Balls White, 3 Balls Blue
Aluminum Crochet Hook Size G or 4.50 mm
Pillow Form 14” Square
Tapestry Needle
Finished Size Approximately 16” x 16”
Gauge: 7 hdc = 2”; 2 rows hdc = 1”
Front:
With white ch 8, join with sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 3 dc in ring, (ch 2, 4 dc in ring) three times, ch 2, join.
Rnd 2: Sl st to 2nd dc, ch 2, hdc in first dc, sk 1 dc, hdc in next dc, hdc in skipped dc (half
dc cross st--hdcs), * (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) in ch-2 sp, (hdcs) two times. Repeat from * three
times, (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) in ch-2 sp, join.
Rnd 3: * Hdcs over next 4 hdcs, (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) in ch-2 sp. Repeat from * three times,
join.
Rnd 4: * Sc in each st across to corner, (sc, ch 2, sc) in corner. Repeat from * three times,
join.
Rnd 5: Repeat rnd 4.
Rnd 6: * Hdcs in each 2 sts across to corner, (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) in corner. Repeat from *
around, join.
Rnd 7: * Hdcs over each hdc across to corner, (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) in corner. Repeat from
* around, join.
Repeat rnd 4-7 two times.
Next Rnd: Sc in each st around, working 3 sc in each corner. Fasten off.
Next Rnd: Join blue in any sc, * ch 3, sk 1 sc, sc in next sc. Repeat from * around, join.
Next Rnd: Sl st into ch-3 sp, sc, * ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch, ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp. Repeat
from * around, join. Fasten off.
Center Trim:
Join blue between any 2 sc between rnds 4 and 5, sl st in each st around, join. Fasten off.
Back:
With blue, ch 49.
Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 2, turn. (48 hdc)
Row 2: Hdc in each hdc across, ch 2, turn.
Row 3-24: Repeat row 2. Fasten off.
Finishing:
Hold both pieces together with wrong sides facing. Using tapestry needle and blue, sew
back and front together with short straight stitches through sc round of front and outside
edges of back, joining three sides only. Insert pillow form, then complete closing fourth
side.
Using a double strand of blue, weave between 5th and 6th spaces at each corner, pull
yarn tightly and tie ends in a bow. Repeat for remaining corners.
