Stuffed Heart Wreath
Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn 4 ozs Rose, 1 oz Blue
28" of 1 3/8" Calico Ribbon
10" Macrame or any kind of hoop
Seven 5" Diameter Plastic Lids
Polyester Fiberfill
Tracing Pencil
Tapestry Needle
Crochet Hook Size G or 4.50 mm
Finished Size Approximately Heart 4 ½" x 5"; Wreath 15" Diameter
Heart Side:
(make 14)
Row 1: With red, ch 2, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, turn. (3)
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.
Row 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in each st across to last st, 2 sc in last st, turn. (5)
Row 4: Repeat row 2.
Rows 5-10: Repeat row 3, ending with 17 sts in last row.
Rows 11-13: Repeat row 2.
Row 14: For right side, ch 1, sc in first 8 sts, leaving last 9 sts unworked, turn. (8)
Row 15: Repeat row 2.
Row 16-17: Ch 1, sc first 2 sts tog, sc in each st across to last 2 sts, sc last 2 sts tog, turn. (6,4). At
end of last row, fasten off.
Row 14: For left side, skip next st on row 13, join red with sc in next st, sc in each st across, turn.
Rows 15-17: Repeat rows 15-17 of right side. At end of last row, do not turn or fasten off.
Rnd 18: Working around outer edge, ch 1, sc in end of each row and in each st around with 3 sc in
bottom point, join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.
Plastic Insert:
(Make 7)
Using 1 heart side as pattern, place in center of plastic lid, trace around outer edge; cut 1/4" smaller
on all edges than heart.
Joining:
Hold 2 hearts wrong sides tog, with plastic insert between; working through both thicknesses in back
lps, join red with sc in any st, sc in each st around stuffing before closing, join with sl st in first sc.
Fasten off.
Trim:
Working in front lps of rnd 18 on 1 side of each heart, join blue with sl st in any st, (ch 3, sl st in next
st) around, ch 3, join with sl st in first sl st. Fasten off.
Assembly:
Using sts of joining seam at ends of rows 10-15, leaving trim free, sew hearts tog forming ring with
points toward center.
With wrong side of wreath facing you, sew row 9 of each heart to macrame hoop.
Tie ribbon in bow, sew to center st of row 8 on 1 heart.
