Strawberry Potholder
Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn 2 oz Red & Green
Crochet Hook Size G or 4.50 mm
With Green ch 4, join with slip st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc, now and throughout), dc in ring, ch 2, (2 dc, ch 2) 5 times in ring; join with slip st
to first dc (now and throughout): 6 ch-2 sps.
Note: Work beginning shell as follows: slip st in next dc and in first ch-2 sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp.
Rnd 2: Work beginning shell, ch 2, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp (shell made), ch 1, 9 dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1,
work shell in next ch-2 sp, ch 2, work shell in next ch-2 sp, ch 1, 9 dc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1; join.
Rnd 3: Work beginning shell, *ch 2, skip next ch-2 sp, work shell in next shell (ch-2 sp), ch 1, 2 dc in neach of
next 4 dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc in each of next 4 dc, ch 1*, work shell in next shell, repeat from * to * once; join.
Rnd 4: Work beginning shell, * ch 2, work shelll in next shell, ch 1, dc in next 17 dc, ch 1 *, work shell in next
shell, repeat from * to * once; join, finish off.
Rnd 5: Join Red with slip st in beginning shell; ch 3, (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same sp, * ch 2, work shell in next shell,
ch 1, work FPdc around next 17 dc (front post dc - work dc from front to back around post of next st from right
to left), ch 1 *, work shell in next shell, repeat from * to * once; join.
Rnd 6: Work beginning shell, * ch 2, work shell in next shell, ch 1, work FPdc around each FPdc to next ch-1 sp,
ch 1 *, work shell in next shell, repeat from * to * once; join.
Note: Work FPdc decrease as follow: (yo, pull up a loop around post of next FPdc, yo and draw through 2 loops
on hook) twice, yo and draw through all 3 loops on hook.
Rnd 7: (decrease rnd): Work beginning shell, * ch 2, work shell in next shell, ch 1, work FPdc decrease, work
FPdc around each FPdc to within 2 FPdc of next ch-1 sp, work FPdc decrease, ch 1*, work shell in next shell,
repeat from * to * once; join.
Rnds 8 and 9: Repeat Rnd 6 twice.
Rnd 10: Repeat Rnd 7.
Rnd 11: Repeat Rnd 6.
Rnds 12 to 16: Repeat Rnd 7, 5 times.
Rnd 17: Work beginning shell, * ch 2, work shell in next shell, ch 1, skip next FPdc, work FPdc around next Fpdc,
ch 1 *, work shell in next shell, repeat from * to * once; join.
Rnd 18: Slip st in next dc and in first ch-2 sp, ch 3, dc in same sp, work 2 dc in each of next 3 shells; join, finish
off.
Finishing: Join Green with slip st at top of strawberry and ch 8, join with slip st to form ring. Work 25 sc in ring,
slip st in first sc; join with slip st in same st as beginning ch-8; finish off.
