Slipper Pattern 1
Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn 2 ozs
Crochet Hook Size H or 5.00 mm
Gauge: 14 hdc = 4 inches or 10 cm
Note: If necessary to obtain correct gauge change to larger or smaller hook.
With double strand of yarn (to make sole only), ch 24.
Rnd 1: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each ch across, 5 sc in end ch, 1 sc in each ch across (other
side), 4 sc in end ch, join with sl st, ch 1.
Rnd 2: Working through back loops only, 1 sc in each sc across, 3 sc in end sc, 1 sc in each sc
across, 3 sc in end sc, ending with1 sc in next sc, join with sl st, ch 1.
Rnd 3: Repeat rnd 2, ending with 1 sc in next 2 sc, join with sl st, ch 1.
Rnd 4: Repeat rnd 2, ending with 1 sc in next 3 sc, join with sl st, ch 1.
Rnd 5: Using a single strand of yarn, work 1 hdc in back loops of each sc (to form ridge), join with sl st,
ch 1.
Rnd 6: Working through both loops, work 1 hdc in each hdc, join with sl st, ch 2.
Rnd 7: Now working in back loops only, repeat rnd 6.
Rnd 8: Mark center hdc for toe. Work 1 hdc in each hdc to within 3 hdc of marker, dec as follows *
draw up a loop in next 2 sts, yo and through 3 loops on hook*, repeat between *’s twice, 1 hdc in each
hdc to end of rnd, join with sl st, ch 2.
Rnd 9: Repeat rnd 8, fasten off.
Insert: With single strand of yarn, ch 8.
Rnd 1: 1 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 hdc in each ch across, 3 hdc in each ch, 1 hdc in each ch across
(other side), 5 hdc in end ch, join with sl st, ch 1.
Rnd 2: Working in back loops only, work 1 hdc in next 7 hdc, 3 hdc in end hdc, 1 hdc in next 7 hdc, join
with sl st, fasten off.
Weaving under both loops of insert and front of slipper (to form ridge), sew insert to toe area leaving
wider edge free.
Finishing: Fasten in loose ends. Work 1 row of picot edge around slipper and insert.
Picot Row: With right side facing, work 1 sc in first hdc, * ch 3, 1 sc in first ch of ch 3 (picot made), sk 1
hdc, sc in next hdc*, Repeat between *’s around, fasten off.
