Materials: Crochet Cotton 1 - 150 Yd Ball of White

Finished Size Approximately 15" Square
Mat: Starting at center, ch 6. Join with sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 6 (counts as 1 dc and ch-3), dc in ring, *ch 1, dc in ring, ch 3, dc in ring. Rep from * twice
more, ch 1. Join with sl st in 3rd ch of starting ch-6.
Rnd 2: Sl st in next ch-3 sp, ch 6, dc in same sp, *(ch 1, dc in next dc) 2 times, ch 1, work (dc, ch 3
and dc) in next ch-3 sp (corner made). Rep from * twice more, (ch 1, dc in next dc) twice, ch 1. Join
with sl st in 3rd ch of starting ch-6.
Rnd 3: Sl st in next ch-3 sp, ch 6, dc in same sp, *(ch 1, dc in next dc) 4 times, ch 1, work (dc, ch 3
and dc) in next ch-3 sp for corner (corner made), Rep from * twice more, (ch 1, dc in next dc) four
times, ch 1. Join same as last rnd.
Rnds 4-6: Beginning and ending as for Rnd 3, and working corners as for Rnd 3, follow chart for
mat. Note that on each rnd, on each side edge of mat there will be 2 extra sp or bl.
Rnd 7: Sl st in next ch-3 sp, ch 6, dc in same sp for first corner, for blocks work as follows: work
another dc in same corner sp, *dc in next dc, (dc in next ch-1 sp, dc in next dc)11 times **, 2 dc in
corner sp (the last 27 dc made are for 13 bl), in same corner sp work (ch 3 and 2 dc). Rep from *
around, end last rep at **, dc in ch-3 sp of first corner, join as before.
Rnd 8: Sl st in next ch-3 sp, ch 6, dc in same sp for first corner, for first sp work (ch 1, dc in next
dc), * (ch 1, sk 1 dc, dc in next dc) 13 times **, ch 1, work (dc, ch 3, dc) in corner sp, ch 1, dc in next
dc. Rep from * around, end last rep at **, ch 1, join. There are 15 sp bet corners on each side.
Rnds 9-20: Starting with Rnd 9, follow chart for pattern. At the end of Rnd 20, there are 39 ch-1 sp
on each side of mat adn four ch-3 corner sp. Do not break off.
Rnd 21: Sl st in next ch-3 sp, ch 6, sc in same ch-3 sp, * (ch 5, sk next ch-1 sp, sc in next ch-1 sp)
19 times, ch 5 **, sk next ch-1 sp, sc in ch-3 corner sp. Rep from * around, end last rep at **, sk last
ch-1 sp, join iwth sl st at base of starting ch.
Rnd 22: Sl st to center of ch-6 lp, * ch 6, sc in next sp. Rep from * around, ending last rep ch 6, sl st
at base of starting ch. Break off.
Finishing: Weave in ends. Block lightly, if desired.
