Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn 20 ozs Mint Green, 6 ozs White
Crochet Hook Size H or 5.00 mm
Finished Size Approximately 30” x 42”
Gauge: In sc, 7 sts = 2”
With white ch 173 loosely
Row 1: (foundation row): Work in back ridge of each ch across, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sk
1 ch, sc in next ch; 3 sc in next ch, sc in next ch; * sk 2 chs, sc in next ch; 3 sc in next ch,
sc in next ch; rep from * to last 2 chs; sk one ch, sc in last ch.
Row 2: (pattern row): Ch 1, turn; sc in both lps of first sc, sk one sc; working in back lp
only (lp away from you) of each following sc, sc in next sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; *
sk 2 sc, sc in next sc, 3 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * to last 2 sc; sk one sc, sc in
both lps of last sc.
Rows 3 & 4: Rep row 2, twice. At end of row 4, change to green in last sc. (To change
colours: work last sc until 2 lps rem on hook; finish off colour being used. With new colour,
yo and draw through 2 lps on hook-colour changed)
Rows 5 through 20: Rep row 2 in the following colour sequence: 4 rows each of green,
white, green and white. Striped border is now completed.
Continuing with green only, rep row 2 until afghan measures approximately 36” long. Then
for other striped border, rep row 2 in the following colour sequence: 4 rows each of white,
green, white, green and white (20 rows total). At end of last row, finish off and eave in all
ends.
