Snowflake Potholders
Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn 1 1/2oz each white, burgundy and
hunter green
Crochet Hook Size 6/G or 4.50 mm and 8/H or 5.00 mm
Tapestry Needle
Note: Use 1 strand white and G/6 hook for snowflake. Use 2 strands
burgundy or green held together and H/8 hook for potholder. Use 2
strands white for edging.
Join rnds with sl st unless otherwise stated.
Snowflake:
Rnd 1: With 1 strand white and G hook, ch 4, join to form ring, ch 1, sc in
ring, (ch 5, sc in next ch-3 sp) 5 times, ch 1, hdc in beg sc to join. (6
ch-3 sps)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in sp just made, (ch 5, sc in next ch-3 sp) 5 times, ch 2,
dc in beg sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 1, (sc, ch 3, sc) in sp just made, (ch 6, sc in 3rd ch from hook,
ch 3, [sc, ch 3, sc] in next ch-5 sp) 5 times, ch 6, sc in 3rd ch from hook,
ch 3, join to beg sc, fasten off.
Potholder:
Rnd 1: With 2 strands of burgundy or green and H hook, ch 4, join to
form ring, ch 1, 8 sc in ring, join in beg sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, join in beg sc. (16)
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc)
rep around, join in beg sc. (24 sc)
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, (sc in each of next 2 sc, 2 sc in

Rnd 7: Sl in next sc, ch 1, sc in same sc (at tip of snowflake), * ch 1, sk
next 3 sc, 7 dc in enxt sc, ch 1, sk next 3 sc **, sc in next sc (at tip of
