Random Rose Doily
Materials: Crochet Cotton Size 50; 2 large Balls
Steel Crochet Hook Size 12
Spray Starch
Note: Size 30 thread may be substituted but finished size will be slightly larger.
Gauge: 6 sps or bls or 6 rows = 1”
Finished Size: 15” x 24”
Note: Give chart a quarter turn clockwise and start working from the small pointed end.
Doily:
Row 1: Start at bottom of chart, ch 26, dc in 8th ch from hook, (ch 2, sk 2 ch, dc in next
ch) 6times, ch 8, turn. (7 sps)
Row 2: (Dc in next dc, 2 dc in next ch-2 sp) 6 times, dc in next dc, 2 dc over ch, dc in 3rd
ch of turning ch (7 bls over 7 sps), ch 2, dtr in same place as last dc, ch 8, turn. (1 sp
increased at each end)
Row 3: Dc in dtr, (2 dc in sp, dc in next dc) twice, (ch 2, sk 2 dc, dc in next dc) 5 times (sp
over bl), bl, 2 dc over ch, dc in 3rd ch of turning ch (bl over sp, ch 2, dtr in same place as
last dc, ch 8, turn.
Row 4: Dc in dtr, 2 bls, 7 sps, 2 bls, ch 2, dtr in same place as last dc, ch 10, turn.
Row 5: Dc in 8th ch from hook, ch 2, dc in dtr, 2 bls, 4 sps, 2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc
(bl over sp), 4 sps, 2 bls, ch 2, dtr in same place as last dc, ch 2, dtr in middle of last dtr,
ch 10, turn. (2 sps inc at each end).
Start at 6th row, follow chart to top to complete half of doily. Reverse chart, do not rep last
row; work back until 7 rows are completed. Do not chain at end of last row; turn, sl st in
each ch and first dc, ch 5 and continue to follow chart to last sp at end of row, ch 5, turn.
(1 sp decreased each end of row)
Follow chart back to first row to complete doily. Do not fasten off, ch 1, work 1 rnd of sc
closely around entire doily, keep work flat, join with sl st in first sc, fasten off. Spray lightly
with starch, block to measurements, let dry.
