Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn 15 ozs Pink
Crochet Hook Size I or 5.50
Finished Size Approximately 33" x 38"
Ch 105 loosely.
Foundation Row: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across;103 dc; ch 2, turn.(counts
as 1 dc)
Row 2: Skip first dc, dc in next dc and in each dc across, ending by making a dc under the
ch-2 bar; ch 2, turn.
Pattern:
Row 1: Sk first dc, dc in next dc, (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) all in next dc; (V-st made), * skip 2 dc,
(1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) all in next dc; (V-st made); repeat from * across, end skip 1 dc, 1 dc in
next dc, dc under the ch-2. (33 V-sts with 2 dc at each end); ch 2, turn.
Row 2: Skip first dc, dc in each st across row, (work 1 dc in each dc of each V-st and 1 dc
in ch): 103 sts; ch 2, turn.
Row 3: Skip first dc, dc in next st, skip 1 st, V-st in next st; * skip 2 sts, V-st in next st;
repeat form * across, ending skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next dc, dc under the ch-2: (33 V-sts with 2
dc at each end)
Repeat pattern rows 2 and 3 until afghan measures 37", ending by work row 2 of pattern.
Repeat row 2 once more. Fasten off. Weave in all loose ends.
Border:
Work a shell stitch pattern along the short ends of afghan. With right side of work facing,
attach yarn under dc bar; ch 1, work shell of (sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc) in same space; * work
another shell around the ch-2 of V-st row; repeat from * across edge, ending with a shell
around the ch-2 of the dc row; fasten off.
