Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn; 6.5 ozs
Crochet Hook Size J or 6.00 mm
Square Pillow Form 14” x 14”
Finished Size Approximately 14” x 14”
Gauge: 13 dc and 8 rows = 4”
Front:
Ch 47 loosely.
Row 1: (right side):Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across: 45 sts.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc, now and throughout), turn; work bptr around post of next
dc, (dc in next 5 dc, work bptr around post of next dc) across to last dc, dc in last dc: 8
bptr.
Row 3: Ch 3, turn; work fptr around post of next bptr, * dc in next 3 dc, work cable as
follows: ch 5 loosely, sl st from the front around post of dc 2 rows below dc just work
(center dc of row 1), turn, hdc in each ch just completed, dc in next 2 dc, work fptr around
post of next bptr; repeat from * across to last dc, dc in last dc: 7 cables.
Row 4: Ch 3, turn; work bptr around post of next fptr, (dc in next 5 dc, work bptr around
post of next fptr) across to last dc, dc in last dc.
Row 5: Ch 3, turn; work fptr around post of next bptr, * dc in next 3 dc, working to right of
previous cable, work cable around post of dc 2 rows below dc just worked, dc in next 2 dc,
work fptr around post of next bptr; repeat from * across to last dc, dc in last dc.
Repeat rows 4 and 5 for pattern until front measures approximately 14”, ending by
working row 4.
Edging:
Ch 1, turn; (sc in each st across to corner, 3 sc in corner, work 45 sc evenly spaced
across to corner, 3 sc in corner) twice; join with sl st to first sc, finish off: 192 sc.
Back:
Ch 47 loosely.
Row 1: (right side): Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across: 45 sts.
Note: Loop a short piece of yarn around any stitch to mark last row as right side.
Row 2: Ch 3, turn; dc in next dc and in each dc across. Repeat row 2 until back measures
same as front, ending by working a wrong side row.
Edging:
Work same as front; do not finish off.
Finishing:
Work reverse double crochet joining as follows: With wrong sides together and front
facing, work through both sts of both pieces as follows: ch 4, working from left to right,
skip next st, * yo, insert hook in next st to right of hook, yo and draw through, under and to
left of loop on hook (3 loops on hook), (yo and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice, ch 1,
skip next st; repeat from * around inserting pillow form before closing; join with sl st to
base of beginning ch 4, finish off.
