Materials: 1 Ball Crochet Cotton or Worsted Weight Yarn for afghans etc.
Crochet Hook Size 7 or 1.5 mm

Ch 7, join to form a ring, ch 5, dc in ring, * ch 2, dc in ring, repeat from * 5 times, ch 2, join in 3rd st of ch.

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in same space, * 3 sc over next mesh, sc in next dc, repeat from * all around ending row with 3 sc over last mesh, join.

Row 3: Ch 3, * skip 1 sc, dc in next sc, ch 3 and work 5 dc over last dc made, skip 1 sc, dc in next sc, repeat from * all around ending row
with skip 1 sc, dc in next sc, ch 3, 5 dc over last dc made, join in 3rd st of ch.

Row 4: Ch 8, * sc in 1st dc of next scallop, ch 5, skip 4 dc of same scallop dc in next dc between scallops, ch 5, repeat from * all around
ending row with sc in 1st dc of next scallop, ch 2, dc in 3rd st of ch 8, this brings thread in position for next row.

Row 5: * Ch 5, sc in next loop, repeat from * all around, ending row with ch 5, sc in dc (16 loops).

Row 6: Ch 1, sc in same space, * 7 sc over next loop, sc in next sc, repeat from * all around ending row with 7 sc over last loop, join.

Row 7: Ch 3, skip 3 sc, dc in next sc, * ch 3, 5 dc over last dc made, skip 3 sc, dc in next sc, skip 3 sc, dc in next sc, repeat from * all
around ending row with ch 3, 5 dc over last dc made, join in 3rd st of ch.

Row 8: Same as 4th row.

Row 9: * Ch 6, sc in next loop, repeat from * all arond ending row with ch 3, dc in dc.

Row 10: Ch 5, 2 dc in next loop, ch 3, sl st in top of last dc for picot, dc in same space, ch 5, sc in next loop, repeat from * all around joining
last ch 5 in dc, break thread.

Work a 2nd motif joining it to 1st motif in last row as follow: ch 5, 2 dc in next loop, ch 1, join to any picot of 1st motif, ch 1, sl st in top of dc
just made to complete picot, dc in same space of 2nd motif, ch 5, sc in next loop, ch 5, 2 dc in next loop, ch 1, sl st in next picot of 1st
motif, ch 1, sl st in top of last dc to complete picot, dc in same space of 2nd motif, finish motif same as 1st motif.. Join 3rd motif to 2nd
motif and 4th motif to 3rd and 1st  motifs leaving 2 picots free on inside edge between joinings.

Joining Motif: Work 1st 2 rows same as large motif.
Next Row: * Ch 7, skip 3 sc, sc in next sc, repeat from * all around.
Next Row: Ch 4, 2 dc in next loop, ch 1, sl st in 1st free picot of any motif, ch 1, sl st in top of dc to complete picot, dc in same space of
small motif, * ch 4, sc in next sc, ch 4, 2 dc in next loop, ch 1, sl st in next free picot of same large motif, ch 1, sl st in top of dc to complete
picot, dc in same space of small motif, ch 4, sc in next sc, ch 4, 2 dc in next loop, ch 1, sl st in 1st free picot of next large motif, ch 1,
complete motif, dc in same space of small motif, repeat form * until all motifs are joined ending row to correspond, join, breath thread.
Work as many motifs as desired joining in the same manner.
