Halloween Pumpkins
Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn 75 yds orange and 3 yds green.
Crochet Hook Size F or 3.75
Yarn Needle and Stuffing
Note: To make pumpkins bigger or smaller add or subtract the number of stitches and rows
With orange ch 32 loosely.
Row 1: (right side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.
Row 3: Turn; slip st in front loop only of each st across.
Row 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in back loop only of each st across.
Row 5: Ch 1, turn; sc n both loops of each sc across.
Row 6-45: Repeat rows 2-5, 10 times.
Finish off leaving a long end for sewing.
Stem:
With green, ch 7 loosely.
Row 1: Slip st in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across.
Row 2 and 3: Turn; work 6 sl sts evenly spaced down center of stem.
Rnd 1: Sl st in end of rows, ch 1, work 8 sc evenly spaced around base of stem; join with sl st to first
sc, finish off leaving long end for sewing.
Finishing:
With right side of pumpkin inside, se last row to first row forming a tube. With orange weave through
end of row at one end of tube; gather tightly and secure.
Turn right side out and stuff.
Thread yarn and weave through end of rows at open end of tube; gather tightly and secure, do not
finish off.
Pull yarn through pumpkin from one gathered end through the other gathered end and then back
again. Pull yarn tightly to indent both ends and secure.
Sew stem to pumpkin.
