Materials: 200 yds White Knit-Cro-Sheen Crochet Cotton
Steel Crochet Hook Size 7 or 1.50 mm
1 ½ Yds 1/8” Wide Satin Ribbon
7 ½” x 3” empty container

Finished Size Approximately 7 ½” across x 3” deep
Basket:
Rnd 1: Ch 5, join to form a ring, ch 3, 14 dc in ring, join. (15)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, 2 dc in each rem dc around, join. (30)
Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, (dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) rep around, join.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, (dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc) rep around, join.
Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, (dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc) rep around, join.
Rnd 6: Ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, (dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc) rep around, join.
Rnd 7: Ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, (dc in next 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc) rep around, join.
Rnd 8: Ch 3, dc in same st as ch 3, (dc in next 6 dc, 2 dc in next dc) rep around, join.
Rnd 9-11: Ch 3, 1 dc in each dc around, join.
Rnd 12: Ch 1, sc in same st, ch 4, sk 1 dc, (sc in next dc, ch 4, sk 1 dc) rep around,
ending with ch 2, dc in starting sc to join. (This will set you up in the middle of loop for next
rnd).
Rnd 13: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 2 more dc in same ch lp, holding back last lp of
each dc, yo, pull though all lps on hook, ch 2, (cluster st: holding back the last lp of each
dc, work 3 dc in next ch 4 lp, yo and pull through all lps on hook, ch 2) rep around, join.
Rnd 14-19: Sl st into next ch 2 sp, ch 3, holding back the last lp of each dc, work 2 more
dc in same lp, yo, pull through all lps on hook, ch 2, (cluster st in next ch 2 sp, ch 2) rep
around, join.
Rnd 20: Sl st into next ch 2 sp, ch 5 (counts as 1 dc, ch 2), (dc in next ch 2 sp, ch 2) rep
around, join in 3rd ch of starting ch 5, fasten off.
Handle:
Ch 110, dc in 4th ch from hook, (ch2, sk 1 ch, dc in next ch) rep across ch. Ch 4, sl st in
opposite side of foundation ch at base of last dc, ch 3, (cluster st in next ch sp, ch 2) rep
across edge, ch 4, sc at top of first dc at beg of handle, ch 3, (cluster st in next ch sp, ch
2) rep across, fasten off.
Finishing:
Saturate basket and handle with stiffener. Place basket over container. Place handle on
flat surface. Allow to dry completely.
When dry, weave ribbon through handle at the dc sps in the center of handle. Weave
ribbon through rnd 20 of basket.
Glue handle to the inside edge of the basket over rnds 16-20. Attach a bow to the outside
edge of each side of basket where handle is attached.
