Ladybug Pot Holder

Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn 2 oz black, 1 oz each of green and red.
Crochet Hook Size G/6
Tapestry Needle

Sides (Make 1 each of red and black):
Rnd 1 (right side): Ch 4, sl st to join to form a ring, ch 3, 15 dc in ring, join in beg ch-3. (16 dc)

Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st as beg ch-3, 2 dc in each st around, join in beg ch-3. (32 dc)

Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in same st as beg ch-3, dc in next st, (2 dc in next st, dc in next st) rep around, join in
beg ch-3. (48 dc)

Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in sam st as beg ch-3, dc in each of next 2 sts, (2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 2 sts)
rep around, join in beg ch-3. (64 dc)

Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in same st as beg ch-3, dc in each of next 3 dc, (2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 3
sts) rep around, join in beg ch-3. (80 dc)

Rnd 6: Ch 3, dc in same st as beg ch-3, dc in each of next 4 sts, (2 dc in next st, dc in each of next 4
sts) rep around, join in beg ch-3, fasten off. (96 dc)

Head:
Note: Make 1 on each side section of potholder.
Attach black in any dc, ch 1, sc in same dc, sk next 3 dc, 11 tr in next dc, sk next 3 dc, sc in next dc,
fasten off.

Spots (make 6):
With black, ch 4, sl st to join to form a ring, ch 1, 8 sc in ring, join in beg sc, leaving a length of yarn,
fasten off.
Using pic as a guide, sew spots on red side of potholder.

Joining:
Rnd 1: With wrong side together, matching sts and working through both thicknesses, attach black in
any st, ch 1, sc in each st around, working (sc, ch 10 sc) in 6th tr of 11-tr group at center top of head,
join in beg sc, fasten off.

Rnd 2: Attach green in any sc, ch 1, sc in each sc around, working 12 sc over ch-10 hanging lp, join in
beg sc, fasten off.
