Grandpa’s Clock Potholder
Materials: Crochet Cotton 1 Ball white, 1 ball brown
Crochet Hook Size 2/0 or 2.5 mm
Felt and bone ring
12 large round sequins, 2 leaf sequins, tiny white beads
Base of Clock:
Starting at bottom with brown ch 45.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Sc in each sc across. Break off. Turn.
Row 3: Skip 3 sc, attach thread to next sc, sc in same place, sc in each sc to within last 3 sc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 4: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Repeat 4th row until piece measures 5 ½" . Ch 1, turn.
Next Row: Work off first 2 sc as 1 sc (1 sc decreased), sc in each sc across to within last 2 sc, dec 1
sc. Ch 1, turn. Repeat last row until 19 sc remain.
New Row: (Work off 2 sc as 1 sc), twice (2 sc decreased), sc in each sc to within last 4 sc, dec 2 sc.
Break off.
Face of Clock:
Staring at center with white, ch 2.
Rnd 1: 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around.
Rnd 3: * 2 sc in next sc (1 sc increased), sc in next sc. Repeat * around. Sc in each sc, increasing 7 sc
evenly on each rnd until piece measures 4 inches in diameter. Sl st in next sc. Break off.
Sew sequins and beads in place. Sew face in place. Line back with felt. With brown, sc closely around
bone ring. Sew in place.
