Materials: DMC Cebelia Size 10 - 1 ball
Crochet Hook Size 8
Spray Starch & Tapestry Needle
Finished Size Approximately 9” at widest point.
Note: When working pattern, 4 dc = 1 bl, 7 dc = 2 bl. For each attached bl add 3 dc. When
following chart, on right side rows, work right to left and on wrong side rows, work from left
to right.
Edging:
Starting at one side edge, ch 72.
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each of next 2 ch, ch 2, sk 2 ch, dc in each of next 4
ch, (ch 2, sk 2 ch, dc in next ch) 17 times, dc in each of next 3 ch, ch 2, sk 2 ch, dc in
each of last 4 ch. Ch 5, turn. Mark for top edge.
Row 2: Sk first 3 dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc, ch 2, sk next 2 dc, dc in
next dc, (ch 2, sk sp, dc in next dc) 17 times, ch 2, sk 2 dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc in sp, dc in
next dc, ch 2, sk 2 dc, dc in top of ch-3. To increase 1 bl at end of row work as follows: *
yo hook and insert hook at base of dc just made, yo hook and draw lp through, yo and
draw through 1 lp only, (yo and draw through 2 lps on hook) twice (1 dc increased). Rep
from * twice more (4 dc made for increased bl). Ch 5, for inc at beg of next row, turn.
Row 3: Dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next ch, dc in top of first dc of last row (1 bl increased
at beg of row), work 1 sp, 1 bl, 7 sp, 1 bl, 3 sp, 1 bl, 7 sp, 1 bl, 1 sp and 1 bl. Ch 5, turn.
Row 4: Sk first 3 dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next sp, dc in next dc, 2 dc in sp, dc in next dc,
ch 2, sk 2 dc, dc in next dc, work 4 more sp, 2 bl (1 sp, 2 bl) 3 times, 5 sp, 1 bl, 1 sp, then
inc 1 bl (same as for row 2). Ch 5, turn. Starting with row 5, follow chart for design and
shaping, to end row 9, ending at top edge.
Row 10: Follow chart across to within last bl. Do not work last bl (1 bl decreased at end of
row). Ch 1, turn.
Row 11: Sl st in each of first 4 sts of first bl (1 bl decreased at beg of row), ch 3 for first
dc, 2 dc in sp, dc in next dc, ch 2, sk 2 dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc in sp, dc in next dc.
Following chart, work across to end of row.
Row 12: Follow chart. Starting with row 13, follow chart, repeating design for desired
length. Break off.
Finishing:
Lower Border:
Join thread at beg of row 1, at lower edge, * ch 3, sc in corner of next row. Rep from * to
longest row. In edge of longest row work (sc, ch 4, sc), then ** ch 3, sc in corner of next
row. Rep from ** to within shortest row. Sk shortest row, sc in corner of next row. Rep from
* along entire shaped edge. Break off.
Top Border:
Row 1: Join thread at top edge, in first bl, ch 5, dc at end of first bl, work (ch 2, dc at end
of next row) across top edge (working spaces across). Ch 3, turn.
Rows 2-3: Sc in next dc, * ch 3, sc in next dc. Rep from * across. Ch 3, turn.
Row 4: Sk first ch-3, * work 3 sc in next ch-3, ch 3, sk next ch-3. Rep from * across. Break
off. Spray starch and press if desired.
