Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn 8 ozs White, 12 ozs Shaded Yellow
         Crochet Hook Size H or 5.00 mm
         Size 16 Tapestry Needle for joining and embroidery

Finished Size Approximately 28" x 32"

Granny Square: (make 56):
With Shaded Yellows , ch 4, join with a sl st to form a ring.

Rnd 1: Work 8 sc in ring, join.

Rnd 2: Ch 3; in same sc, (Yo, draw up a lp) twice, yo and draw through all 5 lps on hook;
cluster made; * ch 3; in next sc, (yo, draw up a lp) 3 times, yo and draw though all 7 lps on
hook; cluster made; rep form * around, ch 3, join with a sl st to top of beg ch-3; finish off
Shaded Yellows.

Rnd 3: Join White in nay ch-3 sp; for corner, ch 3, 4 dc in same sp; * 4 dc in next ch-3 sp,
5 dc in next ch-3 sp for corner; rep from * twice more, 4 dc in next ch-3 sp, join with a sl st
to top of beg ch-3; finish off White.

Rnd 4: Join Shaded Yellows in top of center dc of any 5-dc corner group; ch 3, 4 dc in
same st; * dc in each st to center dc of next 5-dc corner group; 5 dc in center st; rep from
* twice more, d c in each st to beg, join with a sl st to top of beg ch-3. Finish off.                 

Joining:
To join, hold two squares with right sides together and with Shaded Yellows, sew through
back loops only, carefully matching stitches. Join squares in 7 rows of 8 squares each.

Edging:
Hold afghan with right side facing you.
Rnd 1: Join White with a sl st in center st of 5-dc group of any outer corner of afghan, ch
3, 4 dc in same st; dc in each dc and in each joining between squares to center st of 5-dc
group at next corner, work 5 dc in center st; continue in this manner around to beg, join
with a sl st to top of beg ch-3, finish off White.

Rnd 2: Join Shaded Yellows with a sl st in center dc of 5-dc group at any corner; 3 sc in
this st, sc in each dc to center st of 5-dc group at next corner; continue in this manner
around to beg, join with a sl st to beg sc.

Rnd 3: Work in reverse single crochet. This stitch is worked on the right side (from left to
right). This is the opposite direction for working the regular single crochet stitch. Work one
reverse single crochet in each stitch across; finish off and weave in ends.

Embroidery:
With Shaded Yellows, work a four-petal Lazy Dazy embroidery stitch wherever four
corners join.
