Christmas Tree Pillow
Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn 3.5 oz Skeins - 5 Skeins Gold, 2 Skeins
Green &1 Skeins Red
Crochet Hook Size G/6 or 4.5 mm
Polyester Fiberfill
Finished Size Approximately 17" x 13"
Notes: Join rnds with a sl st unless otherwise stated. To change colour in
sc, insert hook in indicated st, yo with working colour, draw up a lp, drop
working colour to ws, yo with next colour, complete sc. Don not carry
colour not in use across ws of work; wind small balls of yarn for each
separate colour section.
When working from chart, read all odd-numbered (rs) rows from right ot
left, all even-numbered (ws) rows from left to right.
Pillow Back:
Row 1: (rs): With gold, ch 50, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch
across, ch 1, turn.(49 sc)
Rows 2-70: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn; at end of row 70, do not ch 1;
fasten off.
Pillow Front:
Row 1 & 2: Rep rows 1 and 2 of pillow back.
Row 3: Sc in each of first 20 sc, changing to green in last st, sc in each of
next 9 sc, changing to 2nd ball of gold in last sc, sc in each of next 20 sc, ch
1, turn.
Rows 4-70: Continuing in sc, work from chart; at end of row 70, fasten off.
Assembly: Holding pillow front and pillow back with ws together, attach
gold with sl st in any corner, ch 1, 3 sc in same st, sc evenly sp around 3
sides, working 3 sc in each corner, stuff pillow with polyester fiberfill, sc
rem side together, join in beg sc. Fasten off.
Tassel: (make 4):
Wrap burgundy around 6" piece of cardboard 50 times, cut open across
one edge. Tie 1 strand of yarn at center of 50 strands held together. Pull
sides down; tie tassel approximately 1" down from top. Trim ends evenly.
Tie one tassel to each corner fo pillow.
