Chippendale Motif
Materials: Crochet Cotton Any Size Your Choice
Crochet Hook Size 7 or 1.5 mm
With first colour ch 8, join to form a ring, ch 1 and work 12 sc in ring, join.
Row 2: Ch 5, dc in next sc, * ch 2, dc in next sc, repeat from * 9 times, ch 2, join in 3rd st of ch.
Row 3: Ch 1 and work 3 sc over each loop, join.
Row 4: * Ch 7, skip 4 sc, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sc, repeat from * 3 times, do not join.
Row 5: * 1 dc, 7 trc, 1 dc over next loop, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sc, repeat from * all around, join in
first dc, break thread if using two colours.
Row 6: Attach second colour in same space, ch 5, 1 dc in each of the next 8 sts with ch 2 between
each dc, * ch 3, skip 2 sc , sc in next sc, ch 3, skip 2 sc, 1 dc in each of the next 9 sts with ch 2
between each dc, repeat from * twice, ch 3, skip 2 sc, sc in next sc, ch 3, join in 3rd st of ch.
Row 7: Ch 6, sl st in 3rd st from hook for picot, * ch 2, dc in next dc, ch 3, sl st in top of last dc for picot,
repeat from * 7 times, ch 3, dc in next dc, ch 3, sl st in top of dc for picot, repeat from first * all around
ending row to correspond and joining last ch 3 in 3rd st of ch, break thread.
Work a second motif in same manner join it to first motif in last row as follows: ch 6, sl st in 3rd st from
hook for picot, * ch 2, dc in next dc, picot, repeat form * 4 times, ch 2, dc in next dc, ch 1, sl st in
corresponding picot of first motif, ch 1, sl st in top of dc to complete picot on 2nd motif, * ch 2, dc in
next dc of 2nd motif, ch 1, sl st in next picot of frist motif, ch 1, complete picot, repeat from * once, ch 3,
dc in next dc of 2nd motif, ch 1, sl st in next picot of 1st motif, ch 1, compete picot, * ch 2, dc in next dc
of 2nd motif, ch 1, sl st in next picot of 1st motif, ch 1, complete picot, repeat form * once, finish motif
same as 1st motif. Join 3rd motif to 2nd motif leaving the 3 center picots free at corner between
joinings. Join 4th motif to 3rd and 1st motifs in same manner.
Joining Motif: With first colour work 1st row same as 1st row of large motif.
