Materials: Crochet Cotton Size 5 - 53 yards
Steel Crochet Hook Size 2
½ Yd Blue Satin Ribbon 1/8” Wide
1 Small Pearl Bead
Needle and Sewing Thread
Tapestry Needle
Starting in center, ch 44.
Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, * sk next 2 ch, work a shell of (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch,
sk next 2 ch, sc in next ch. Rep from * 6 more times, end last rep with (sc, ch 2, sc) in last
ch (7 shells made); then working on opposite edge of starting ch, rep from first * 7 times,
end last rep with (sc, ch 2, sc) in last ch. Join with sl st in first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in joining st, * ch 2, work (sc, ch 3, sc) in ch-2 sp of next shell, ch 2, work
(sc, ch 3, sc) in next sc. Rep from * 5 more times, ch 2, (sc, ch 3, sc) in sp of last shell, ch
2, sc in next sc, ch 3; in ch-2 bottom sp work (sc, ch 5, sc), then ch 3, sc in next sc. Rep
from first * across next 7 shells as before, end ch 3; in ch-2 top sp work (sc, ch 3, sc),
then ch 3, join with sl st to first sc and break off.
Finishing:
Weave in all ends. Block if desired.
Trim: Weave ribbon in and out of spaces in center of bookmark. Leave 1 ½” of ribbon
extending at each end. At one end, fold extra ribbon to wrong side, and with needle and
thread, sew in place, at opposite end, make small bow with extra ribbon and sew in place.
Sew pearl to center of bow.
