Materials: Crochet Cotton Size 30 - 1 Ball of desired Colour
Steel Crochet Hook Size 11
Finished Size Approximately 3” wide
Gauge: 5 mesh = 1”
Note: This filet pattern can also be worked as an edging by simply repeating A to B to
desired length, without working decreases at end of chart.
Beg at straight edge, ch 47.
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. (45 dc) counting starting ch-3. Turn.
Row 2: Sl st in first dc, ch 3 for first dc, dc in 3 dc--filled mesh at beg of row completed, (ch
2, skip 2 dc, dc in next dc) 6 times--6 open mesh completed, dc in next 3 dc--filled mesh
completed, (ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next dc) 6 times--6 more open mesh completed, dc in 2
dc, dc in top of starting ch--filled mesh at end of row completed--row 2 of chart completed.
Row 3: Work filled mesh at beg of row, (ch 2, dc in next dc) 5 times, 2 dc in ch-2, dc in
next dc, ch 2, skip 2 dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc n ch-2, dc in dc, (ch 2, dc in next dc) 5 times,
work filled mesh at end of row--row 3 of chart completed. Continue to follow chart, repeat
from A to B 6 times--50 rows have been completed.
Next Row: Sl st in 4 sts, work filled mesh at beg of row, follow chart across, leave last
mesh unworked--1 mesh dec each edge. Continue to follow chart, decreasing 1 mesh
each edge until 1 mesh remains. Fasten off.
Finishing: Starch lightly. Pin flat and allow to dry completely.
